Dear Colleagues,
Today is a Groundhog day, what means that a lot of people paid attention to marmots, not only we 
. That also mean that marmots will finish their hibernation soon (well, in Alyaska and Yakutia it is not so soon) and we will meet again these fascinating animals. I wish you good year and good results!

7th International Conference on the Genus Marmota will be held in Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia, from August 30 to September 2, 2011.
Official language will be English. No translation will be provided.
The excursion to the National Park Low Tatras will be held within the Conference program. A optional excursion to the Tatra National Park will be on September 3, 2011.

X meeting on marmots of former Soviet Union’s countries

Dear Colleagues,
X meeting on Marmots of former Soviet Union’s countries took place between 22nd and 27th of August 2010 in Goryachinsk village, Republic of Buryatia, Russian Federation. Researchers from Russia and Ukraine and also special guests from France and Nepal, totally 34 scientists from 12 cities visited this conference. 54 communications devoted to different aspects of biology, conservation and sustainable use of marmots were collected, 28 oral reports were made and 7 posters were discussed.
